La Casina is situated on the Villa Arceno grounds in Castelnuovo Berardenga (SI), one of the 5 municipalities of the Chianti Classico region in the province of Siena. The vineyards and olive-groves are managed by the Tenuta Villa Arceno, property of Kendall and Jackson from California. By car one reaches Casina in 20 minutes from Siena; a good hour from Florence and about 2,5 hours drive from Rome. Italy's high speed train stops in Florence from where a regional train connects to Siena. Florence, Pisa and Rome airports offer a wide choice of connections by air.

Marianne and sons Peter and Tjerk have opened their stylish home in Chianti to a limited number of guests per year. We have been regular visitors to and resident of Chianti since 1972. The family restored first La Rufena (on the Medici maps)  and then a second lovely Tuscan farmhouse. Our current property is called La Casina. It provides so much 'joie de vivre' and is regularly used by family and friends. Never meant to be a rental, it has the exclusive feeling and the personal touches of a real home. The art and antique furniture gracing its airy rooms; the beautiful crockery and lovingly tended garden. It feels like Marianne has only just gone out for a walk! She wishes to offer you a chance to experience an elegantly restored private Chianti farmhouse and the pleasures of Tuscan country life.

La Casina, on the 1.000 hectare Arceno lands, 20 minutes north-east of Siena (annotated map), is part of a condominium of 5 holiday homes. Casina offers full privacy in its 3.000 m2 garden and on its terraces. A 30 by 8 meter condominium swimming pool with a 360° view over the Chianti hills, and way beyond, is open from June till October. The 200 m2 home offers luxury facilities for up to 6 guests. On the ground floor a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a large kitchen dining room, a library and a living; all three with french windows to their own terrace. On the first floor two more bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, jacuzzi and laundry. A fully equipped kitchen for afficionados; satellite TV and wifi DSL internet connection for those who need to stay in touch.
